T-Mech Earth Auger

The engine will need to be fuelled before assembling and operated. Once the tank has fuel in it, a drill and/or extension pole can be attached and then operated. Please refer to the First Fuelling and Assembly Guide before starting the engine.

Using the fuel mixing container combine 25 parts unleaded petrol to 1 part 2 stroke lubricating oil. Pour in using the provided fuel funnel. The fuel mixing container has level indicators to allow accurate mixing. Shake the fuel mixing container to combine. This will now be referred to as 2 Stroke Oil Mix. Fuel must be mixed in a container outside in a well ventilated area.

Open the fuel tank cap. Using the fuel funnel pour the 2 stroke oil mix into the fuel tank. Once filled to the indicated level, place the fuel tank cap back on and tighten.

Choose the drill of desired diameter. Push the drill onto the drill stem – this should feel a little tight.

Rotate the drill around the drill stem until you see the 2 bolt holes line up. Once aligned, push the bolt through the hole and secure using the split pin.

If you want to drill 2 meters into the ground, first drill down by one meter as described in Operation Instructions. Repeat the process after attaching the extension pole using the further bolt and split pin. The extension pole will be located between the motor and drill.

If desired, you can dig a small hole. This can act as a location guide and will help the T-Mech Earth Auger from wandering once you start drilling. Ensure you have a 5 meter clear radius and the area is cleared from obstacles.

Your T-Mech Earth Auger should now be fuelled and assembled, ready and waiting to start up. Before starting the engine, please wear all safety gear provided and wear appropriate footwear.

Turn the switch to ‘On’.

Pump the priming bulb a few times until fuel flows through to the engine carburettor.

Lift choke lever to the cold start position.

With a firm and sturdy grasp, using a quick motion tug the pull cord to arms length. Put weight on the handle bar, preventing the motor from lifting off the ground during the process. Repeat until the engine starts.

Lower the choke lever to the running position.

Please Note: On your first use, the engine may stall. If it does do not be alarmed. Simply restart with the choke in the running position.

Lift and hold your T-Mech Earth Auger up right, the drill facing downwards, with a strong grip.

Once in the correct area, to begin drilling, gradually squeeze the throttle and begin to press the drill into the earth.

Once the drill is in the earth at about 10cm deep, keep a firm grasp of the handles. Begin to increase the speed by squeezing on the throttle and push harder into the earth.

Be sure not to dig too deep without cleaning the dirt out of the hole. If you go deeper than 12 inch, the T-Mech Earth Auger will be extremely heavy to lift out of the hole, or it will get stuck. To empty the hole before drilling deeper, lift the T-Mech Earth Auger in and out of the earth, ensuring the drill does not completely come out of the earth. Keep performing this action until the hole is at the desired depth.

Please Note: Pay extra attention when operating on an incline or rocky surfaced ground. When lifting the drill, be careful of rocks are they can cause injury.

Once finished, lift the drill out of the ground. Once out, release the throttle and turn the switch to ‘Off’.

Wait for the motor to cool before removing or changing the drill and/or adding the extension pole before re-staring the engine.

It is possible the rotation accelerator springs have broken. To fix this, replace both springs. If you are struggling with this simply call or email our Support Team. They will guide you through the process or arrange a date and time for us to collect the product and fix it with our 12 month guarantee.

No tools will be required to assemble the T-Mech Earth Auger. All parts can be assembled by hand.

Turn of the power and allow to cool. Then remove manually.
