Pineapple

In this pattern a bobble stitch is used. Before we start first a short explanation about this stitch:

Step 1: Yarn over and insert the needle into the st or ch. Yarn over and pull a loop through the st. There are now 3 loops on the needle.

Step 2: Repeat step 1 two more times. Insert the needle always in the same st. There are now 6 loops on the needle.

Step 3: Yarn over and pull it through the first 6 loops on your needle, there are 2 remaining loops on your needle.

Step 4: Yarn over again and pull it through the last 2 loops at the needle.

The pineapple is, unless mentioned otherwise, crocheted in dc. Every round ends with 1 sl and every new round starts with 3 ch. Crochet 1 dc in every dc that isn’t mentioned.

1.  Ch 3 and end with 1 sl into the 1st ch.

2.  Ch 3 and 11 dc into the circle of ch, 1 sl into the 3rd ch

3.  Ch 3, 1 dc into the sl, 11 times (2 dc in every dc) (= 24 st) 

4.  Ch 3, 2 dc in every 4th dc (= 30 st) 

5 - 11.  Ch 3, 1 bst, 14 times ( 1 dc, 1 bst) (= 30 st) 

Attach the safety eyes in round 7, in stitch 12 and 16

12.  Ch 3, sc every 4th and 5th st together (= 24 st)

Stuff the pineapple. Because the pineapple is made with dc, your work is less tight. Don’t stuff  the pineapple to tight to avoid the fiberfill coming out. 

13.  Crochet every 2 dc together (= 12 st)

End the last round also with 1 sl, pull the yarn through and cut it off at approx. 30 cm. Thread the yarn through the 12 dc and pull tight. Fasten off and weave in the end.

1.   Ch 3 and end with 1 sl into the 1st chain

2.   Ch 3  and 11 dc into the circle of ch and end with 1 sl 

3.   Ch 10, into the 2nd ch at the needle: 3 sl, 3 sc, 3 dc. Skip 1 dc of round 1 and crochet 1 sl into the 2nd dc. Repeat this 5 times. 

Sew the leaves on top of the pineapple. Sew the chain of the keyring between the leaves. Do not fasten off, but use the yarn to embroider a mouth.
