1. Melon

Ch 2 with red or start with a magic ring.

1. 6 sc into the 1st ch or into the magic ring, 1 sl into the 1st sc (= 6 sc)

2. 2 sc in every sc (= 12 sc)

3. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 18 sc)

4. 6 times (1 sc, 2 sc into the next sc, 1 sc) (= 24 sc)

5. 2 sc in every 4th sc (= 30 sc)

6. 6 times (2 sc, 2 sc into the next sc, 2 sc) (= 36 sc)

7. 2 sc in every 6th sc (= 42 sc)

8. 6 times (3 sc, 2 sc into the next sc, 3 sc) (= 48 sc)

9. 2 sc in every 8th sc (= 54 sc)

10. 6 times (4 sc, 2 sc into the next sc, 4 sc) (= 60 sc)

11. 2 sc in every 10th sc (= 66 sc)

Continue with white.

12. 6 times (5 sc, 2 sc into the next sc, 5 sc) (= 72 sc)

Continue with green

13. 2 sc in every 12th sc (= 78 sc)

14. 78 sc, sc hereby into the back loops only.

15. 36 sc, ch 1 and turn around.

16. Crochet back along the st of round 15 with 36 sc

Fasten off and leave a strand of approx. 30 cm hanging.
2. Finishing

Fold the work together. Attach the safety eyes between round 6 and 7 with 10 st between them.

Sew the edges together with the remaining piece of green yarn to create a semi-circle. Stuff the melon while sewing. Sew the chain of the key ring onto the tip of the melon.

Embroider with green the mouth in the middle of the melon, just below the eyes.
