Fire Truck

Start with the base. The base is crocheted in back-and-forth rows. After each row, ch 1 and turn around.

Ch 16 with red.

1 to 30. 15 sc

Crochet a row of sc around the entire piece as follows:

31. 29 sc along the side, 3 sc at the corner, 13 sc along the front, 3 sc at the corner, 29 sc along the side, 3 sc at the corner, 13 sc along the top, 3 sc at the corner (= 96 sc)

Now continue in rounds.

32. 96 sc, but crochet only in the back loops.

33 to 42. 96 sc

43. 19 sc, ch 17, skip 45 sc, 1 sc in the 46th sc, 13 sc, ch 17, skip 23 sc, 1 sc in the 24th sc.

From now on, this is the start of the round (photo 1)

44. 13 sc, 17 sc in the ch, 14 sc, 17 sc in the ch, 1 sc (= 62 sc)

Continue with white.

45 to 48. 62 sc

49. 46 sc, sc 2 st together, 12 sc, sc 2 st together (= 60 sc)

50 and 51. 60 sc

Continue with red.

52. 60 sc

53. Crochet only in the back loops; sc 2 st together, 11 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 11 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 11 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 11 sc, sc 2 st together (= 52 sc)

54. sc 2 st together, 9 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 9 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 9 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 9 sc, sc 2 st together (= 44 sc)

55. sc 2 st together, 7 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 7 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 7 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 7 sc, sc 2 st together (= 36 sc)

56. sc 2 st together, 5 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 5 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 5 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 5 sc, sc 2 st together (= 28 sc)

57. sc 2 st together, 3 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 3 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 3 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 3 sc, sc 2 st together (= 20 sc)

58. sc 2 st together, 1 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 1 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 1 sc, 2 x (sc 2 st together), 1 sc, sc 2 st together (= 12 sc)

59. 6 x (sc 2 st together) (= 6 sc)

Fasten off. Pull the yarn end through the remaining 6 stitches and pull tight. Weave in the end.

Attach the red yarn in the 1st remaining loop of the 2nd chain from row 43 (at the front) (photo 2)

1. 17 sc along the loops.

2 and 3. Ch 1, turn your work, 17 sc

4. Crochet the sc together with the sc at the front of the car with a row of sl, skip 3 sc, start in the 4th sc. (photo 3)

Fasten off.

Sew the sides of the bonnet closed.

Attach the red yarn in the 1st remaining loop of the 1st ch of round 43.

1. Crochet 17 sc along the loops.

2 to 13. Ch 1, turn your work, 17 sc

Fasten off.

Reattach the yarn in the 1st sc on the side of round 1. (photo 4)

Crochet a row of sc along the crocheted piece as follows: 12 sc along the side, 3 sc at the corner, 15 sc along the back, 3 sc at the corner, 12 sc along the side (= 45 sc)

Ch 1 and then crochet the sc together with the sc of round 42 with a row of sl. (photo 5)

Stuff the fire truck before fastening the last side.

Embroider with red 2 stitches along each corner of the windows.

Ch 2 with white or start with a magic ring.

1. 6 sc in the 1st ch or in the magic ring, 1 sl in the 1st sc (= 6 sc)

2. 2 sc in each sc (= 12 sc)

Continue with black.

3. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 18 sc)

4. 6 x (1 sc, 2 sc in each sc, 1 sc) (= 24 sc)

Fasten off.

Crochet another piece, but now crochet all rounds with black and don't fasten off.

Place both pieces together and crochet the stitches together with 24 sl.

Fasten off.

Crochet 3 more wheels and sew the wheels to the sides of the fire truck.

Ch 33 with black.

1. 32 sc

2. Ch 1, turn your work, 32 sc

3. Ch 1, fold the crochet work in half and crochet the stitches together with 32 sc (photo 7)

Fasten off.

Crochet another identical piece, but don't fasten off this time.

4. Ch 1, turn around, 3 sl, * ch 6, 1 sl in the 4th sc of the 1st piece (photo 8), 1 sl in the next sc of the 1st piece, 6 sc back along the chains, 1 sl on the next sc of the 2nd piece, 5 sl, repeat from * 4 more times, end with 3 sl instead of 5 sl.

Fasten off.

Sew the ladder onto the top of the truck and onto the ladder holder. Weave in the ends.
