4. 2 sc in the 1st sc, 11 sc, 2 sc in the last sc (= 15 sc)
5. 2 sc in the 1st sc, 13 sc, 2 sc in the last sc (= 17 sc)
6. 16 sc, 2 sc in the last sc (= 18 sc)
7. 2 sc in the 1st sc, 16 sc, 2 sc in the last sc (= 20 sc)
8. 20 sc
9. 4 sc with blue, carry the light brown yarn along at the back of the work, continue with light brown, 16 sc (= 20 sc)
10. 14 sc with light brown, 6 sc with blue (= 20 sc)
11. Crochet 2 st together with blue, 6 sc with blue, 12 sc with light brown (= 19 sc)
12. 2 sc in the 1st sc with light brown, 9 sc with light brown, 7 sc with blue, crochet 2 st together with blue
(= 19 sc)
13. Crochet 2 st together with blue, 7 sc with blue, 10 sc with light brown (= 18 sc)
14. 9 sc with light brown, 7 sc with blue, crochet 2 st together with blue (= 17 sc)
15. Crochet 2 st together with blue, 6 sc with blue, 9 sc with light brown (= 16 sc)
16. 8 sc with light brown, 6 sc with blue, crochet 2 st together with blue (= 15 sc)
17. Crochet 2 st together with blue, 6 sc with blue, 7 sc with light brown, carry the blue yarn along at the back of the work (= 14 sc)
Continue with blue only, cut the light brown yarn.
18. Crochet 2 st together, 10 sc, crochet 2 st together (= 12 sc)
19. Crochet 2 st together, 8 sc, crochet 2 st together (= 10 sc)
20. Crochet 2 st together, 6 sc, crochet 2 st together (= 8 sc)
21. Crochet 2 sc together, 4 sc, crochet 2 sc together (= 6 sc)
22. Crochet 2 st together, 2 sc, crochet 2 st together (= 4 sc)
Then crochet a row of sc along the entire work as follows: 17 sc down the back with blue, 8 sc further along the back with light brown, 7 sc along the bottom with light brown, 16 sc up the front with light brown, 5 sc further along the front with blue, 4 sc along the top with blue (= 57 sc)
Fasten off.
Crochet another identical piece, but ensure the yarn ends are on the other side of the work. Do not fasten off.
Attach the safety eyes between row 15 and row 16, 3 st from the outside of the work.
Place the two pieces together and crochet them together as follows: 17 sc with blue, 28 sc with light brown, continue with orange, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2, 1 sc in the next sc), continue with light brown, 2 sc, stuff the bird, continue with blue, 6 sc, 3 x (ch 3, 2 sl in these ch, 1 sc in the next sc).
End with 1 sl in the 1st sc and fasten off. Weave in the ends.
