Acorn

Pattern for crocheting the Acorn by Hardicraft. The acorn is approximately 8 cm in size and is made with a 2.5 mm crochet hook.

1. Acorn

You start at the bottom of the acorn.

Ch 2 with light brown or start with a magic ring.

1. 6 sc in the 1st ch or in the magic ring, 1 sl in the 1st sc (= 6 sc)

2. 6 sc

3. 2 sc in each sc (= 12 sc)

4. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 18 sc)

5. 6 x (1 sc, 2 sc in the next sc, 1 sc) (= 24 sc)

6. 2 sc in every 4th sc (= 30 sc)

7. 6 x (2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc, 2 sc) (= 36 sc)

8. 2 sc in every 12th sc (= 39 sc)

9. 3 x (6 sc, 2 sc in the next sc, 6 sc) (= 42 sc)

10. to 21. 42 sc

22. Crochet every 6th and 7th st together (= 36 sc)

23. 6 x (2 sc, sc 2 st together, 2 sc) (= 30 sc)

24. Crochet every 4th and 5th st together (= 24 sc)

Attach the safety eyes between rounds 13 and 14, leaving 6 st space between the eyes.

Stuff the acorn.

25. 6 x (1 sc, sc 2 st together, 1 sc) (= 18 sc)

26. Crochet every 2nd and 3rd st together (= 12 sc)

27. 6 x (sc 2 st together) (= 6 sc)

Fasten off. Pull the yarn end through the remaining 6 st and pull tight. Weave in the end.

Embroider a mouth with dark brown between the eyes and with red a line under the eyes (use the photo for placement).
2. Cap

You start at the top of the cap.

Ch 2 with dark brown or start with a magic ring.

1. 6 sc in the 1st ch or in the magic ring, 1 sl in the 1st sc (= 6 sc)

2. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 9 sc)

3. 9 sc in the back loops.

4. Crochet every 2nd and 3rd st together (= 6 sc)

3. Leaf

For crocheting the leaf, follow the crochet chart. Each row in the chart is in a different colour for clarity.

1. Crochet from the 2nd ch from the hook: 4 sl, 4 sc, 4 hdc, 3 dc, 6 dc in the next ch.

Now continue along the other side of the chain: 3 dc, 4 hdc, 4 sc, 4 sl, ch 1.

Turn your work and crochet back along the same st.
